whom it has a less adversarial relationship
(Europe? Japan? Commodity producers such as
Australia and Canada?),” wrote Gavekal
Research’s Louis-Vincent Gave. “The fact
that some of the biggest downside moves seem
to be occurring during Asian hours might
support this explanation.”

Japan: Japan, the largest foreign holder of US Treasuries at $1.06 trillion
as of December 2024, has not been explicitly reported as selling in the
last few days either. Earlier in 2025, Japan increased its holdings in
January, countering claims of sales at that time. Recent market reports
don’t pinpoint Japan as a seller this week, and Japan has ruled out using
its Treasury holdings to counter US tariffs, suggesting stability in its
position for now.
日本：截至2024年12月，日本持有1.06万亿美元美国国债，是美国
国债的最大海外持有者。过去几天，日本也没有明确报告其抛售
美国国债。2025年早些时候，日本曾在1月份增持，这与当时的
