英语有一个精巧的句子结构:

despite....,but because of...，

先看例句。 Robert Frost (美国诗人)说, " We cherish certain memories,or bond with people not despite their imperfections, but because of them." 你是否曾想过，为什么我们珍视某些回忆，或者与某些人建立深厚的情感联结——这并非无视他们的不完美，恰恰是因为那些不完美？

这种句式表現了思维逻辑突然的转向和跳跃。又比如欧美家庭收养了一个中国残障儿。我们会说他收养了这孩子尽管他身有残迹(他们不介意)。They adopted a Chinese kid despite his deformity. 而他们会说，‘‘ No, no We adopted the kid not despite his deformation, but because of it. " 不是不嫌他残才收养，而是因为他的残迹我们才收养。一位大叔要送一位女孩子回家，说天黑了一个女孩子走路不安全。女孩子说，我怕害，並不是怕路上黑，我怕的是你在我身边。英语怎么说?
