不要小看共军中东漕运护航的动作。无论最后结果如何，这是自1880年代北洋水师筹建以来，中国海军首次在领海以外的地区以军舰维护自已的利益，也是中国海军首次通过实例中向世界展示其远程武力投送能力。此次动作甚至有可能打开中国舰队游弋印太海域之常态化的大门。
北洋水师是清政府为了应对外患，在封建工业基础羸弱的条件下，以“买办”方式建立的局部领先的近代海军，最终因体系不健全、内耗严重而失败。现今中国海军则是在现代化国防工业支撑下，实现了高度自主化、信息化和远洋化的强大武装力量，体系、战斗力和整体国力依托都非北洋水师可比。
如果说中国过去十几年军舰下饺子是在为走向深蓝做准备，此次中东护航就是中国海军走向大洋迈开的一小步了。光下饺子不行动，岂不是叶公好龙吗？保护权益，有理有据，机会不等人。千里之行，始于足下。
由此看来，共军海军走向深蓝，从现在起，至少要经历三个十年：
第一个十年（2026-2035），制造军舰，组织舰队，形成基本战力。
第二个十年（2036-2045），全球游弋，培养人才，积累实战经验。
第三个十年（2046-2055），创新换代，铸造强大的全球投送能力。
从这个角度来看，东大还真应该感谢懂王发动美伊战争所提供的宝贵机会呢。有道是：造舰万日，养兵千日，用兵一时。只要有足够的耐心与韧性，铁杵成针，水滴石穿，三十年太平洋，三十年大西洋。
