From Relative to Absolute to 2×2 to 4×4×4 to 6×6×6×6: How Instancology Unfolds Itself

Prologue: A Landscape of Fragmentation

For millennia, human inquiry has advanced by dividing what lies before us: mind from matter, subject from object, science from metaphysics. Fragmentation brought precision, yet it also scattered meaning. Instancology arises to heal this fracture. It begins with a single, radical intuition:

Reality is issued in *instances*—irreducible wholes that precede their parts.

From that intuition the system unfolds in five great movements, each adding one axis of determination while preserving every truth established earlier:

Each stage refines, rather than replaces, the previous. What follows is a full exposition of that unfolding.

I. The Relative Domain: Where Thought Begins

1. RR – Relative-Relative: RR contains whatever humans fabricate: language, ideology, tools, social contracts, money, the internet, and Instagram captions. These entities are doubly relative—relative in their genesis and in their validity.

2. AR – Absolute-Relative: AR is nature proper: mountains, neurons, stars, viral genomes. Though relative in the sense that they exist within spacetime contingencies, AR entities are absolutely beyond human choice.

Classical philosophy and modern science operate almost entirely within RR and AR. Their greatest achievements are still attempts to read AR with tools forged in RR.

II. The Turn Toward the Absolute

Repeated crises—logical paradoxes, quantum non-locality, the “hard problem” of consciousness—hint that RR + AR alone cannot ground a self-consistent worldview. Instancology identifies two further arenas:

3. RA – Relatively-Absolute: RA houses formless laws: mathematics, logical principles, symmetries, the very grammar of possibility. They govern all instances yet lack spatiotemporal being.

4. AA – Absolutely-Absolute: Finally we posit the unspeakable issuer—AA. It does not exist in the usual sense; it issues existence. All layers emanate from AA, yet AA is untouched by them.

III. The 2 × 2 Core Matrix

This matrix maps ontology:

Human-Made (RR and RA), Natural (AR and AA). Each quadrant has:

- Unique epistemic access

- Distinct logic

- No straddling phenomena

The 2×2 matrix ends ambiguity by anchoring every phenomenon ontologically.

IV. Scaling to 4 × 4 × 4: Three Intersecting Axes

Axis 1 – Ontology: AA, RA, AR, RR

Axis 2 – Cognitive Mode: Absolute WuXing, Primitive WuXing, Reason, Understanding

Axis 3 – Functional Domain: Meaning, Life, Law, Language

This 4×4×4 lattice offers 64 instance-slots that locate scientific fields, epistemologies, and artifacts without overlap. For instance, physics maps to ?RA, Reason, Law? while linguistics maps to ?RR, Understanding, Language?.

V. Toward 6 × 6 × 6 × 6: Capturing Dynamism and Self-Reference

New additions needed to address emergence, collapse, and consciousness.
