【注】2024年白昼最短的今天——冬至，家门口下起了本季首场小雪。雪花轻轻飘落，给冬日的傍晚披上一身银装、一片纯净。树枝上、屋檐边、停在路边的车顶，都覆上了一层薄薄的白，仿佛整个世界都被按下了静音键。

而就在这静谧的暮色中，一年一度宾夕法尼亚“山林”州蒙哥马利“巨人山”村(Montgomery Twp)传统的圣诞亲民警车巡游如约而至。警灯闪烁，警笛长鸣——那声音不是紧张，而是召唤；那灯光不是警示，而是祝福。一辆辆警车救火车缓缓驶过小区，车顶的爆闪灯在雪夜里划出红蓝交织的光弧，像是给每一户人家送上一句无声的“圣诞快乐”。

我裹着厚厚的棉衣站在门口挥手，邻居们则站在窗前微笑。雪还在下，但心里暖了。这个白昼最短的日子，却因为这场雪、这列车、这些人，变得格外温长。
