A mythology reflects its region. Here
In Connecticut, we never lived in a time
When mythology was possible - But if we had -
That raises the question of the image's truth.
The image must be of the nature of its creator.
It is the nature of its creator increased,
Heightened. It is he, anew, in a freshened youth
And it is he in the substance of his region
Wood of his forests and stone out of his fields
Or from under his mountains.

无论是他森林里的木材还是他田野中的石头
或是从他高山的底下。
【注】随着数字经济快速发展，数字技术也在迅速向各个领域渗透，2022年9月，位于前移民工业储蓄银行大厅、由法国文化空间工作室(Culturespaces)打造的灯光厅——纽约城最大的数字艺术馆正式开放，这个周末我恰好赶上目前举行的“陶醉·巴黎—纽约”沉浸式虚拟现实画展。
白俄罗斯裔法国籍画家战神·陶醉(Marc Chagall，1887—1985)身处艺术和文化不断创新的十字路口，将创作植根于时代，其多产且难以归类的素材吸取了马戏团、寓言故事、歌剧人物、圣经情节以及俄罗斯文化，全部作品和艺术图像都被投射到灯光厅的墙壁上，如同交织在一起的剪纸图像，并分别配以古典曲、希伯来调(Klezmer)和爵士乐，极具诗意地再现了艺术家丰富的生活内涵和文化意蕴，并且自然地与其民族和同辈经历产生共鸣。
作为廿世纪最伟大历史事件(从最黑暗到最亢奋)的见证人，“陶醉”将自己大胆而充满想象力的绘画变成承诺、和平与希望的工具。
