茵尼斯夫里的湖岛

译记：二十多年前某天在某老牌大公司（即所谓的“HAL"）上班时，偶见一张未名湖的照片，于是又想起了叶芝的这首名作，忍不住写下了这个译文。

我曾在当时的译注中言及“见过名家译文，未觉尽意”, 飞白与袁可嘉均在这名家之列。前辈译文中，如”蜂群嗡嗡唱”与“枝条编墙糊上泥”者，有违叶芝诗风。此外，在第五行将”some“略去，两个“dropping” 未译相同，等等。

这些译文的第一句尤其令我失望。原文 “I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree” 中的两个“go”，首先强调了诗人”归去“心切，更在音韵上连贯相衔，铺垫全诗深沉延绵之忆旧之情与梦幻之调。与白居易“早闻元九咏君诗，恨与卢君相识迟。今日逢君开旧卷，卷中多道赠微之“，或苏东坡”人生到处知何似，应似飞鸿踏雪泥；泥上偶然留指爪，鸿飞那复计东西” 略有同工之妙。

我要起身离去了，去到茵尼斯夫里，

在那儿，建一个小棚屋，由黏土和枝条筑起；

在那儿，我将有蚕豆九行，蜂巢一只，

独居在蜂儿嗡嗡的空地。

在那儿，我会有些许的安宁，那来自缓缓流逝的安宁，

流逝，自清晨的薄雾，到蟋蟀歌唱的地方；

在那儿，子夜是一片微朦，正午是紫色的光明，

而傍晚到处是红雀的翅膀。

我要起身离去了，因为无论白天还是夜里

我总是听到湖水低声地拍打着岸堤；

无论我伫立车道，抑或灰色的水泥地，

我听到这声音，深深地在心底。

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,

And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:

Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee;

And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,

Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;

There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,

And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day

I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;

While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,

I hear it in the deep heart's core.
