我去年毕业，现在是一个加拿大公司的职员（老板是加拿大人），平时在工作上的英语翻译我现在已经能够应付。但是，我现在考虑到，如果我想要更深入的发展自己（本质自己还是英语专业毕业）我不能仅仅是掌握一方面的英语知识。而且目前来说，有一个问题警示我必须马上提高自己，这个问题是我在会议里面做翻译时总容易卡壳，老板都说我不是这样的水平，他们认为地道的英语在我掌握里。

Self-confidence means you're not afraid to make a fool of yourself. It is very
important in everything you do in life, and learning from your mistakes is how
you improve. But self-confidence with English can only come after you have
attained proficiency in the language.
The key to mastering a language is to be able to think in that language. In
conversation Chinese immigrants tend to think (conceptualize) in Chinese,
then translate the ideas into English.
Do you read and listen a lot in English? Not just materials directly related to
work, but reading and listening just for fun? Only through reading and listening
regularly in the English language can you grasp concepts in English.
Until you “breathe” and “live” the English language, that is to say, until you
can conceptualize in English, English will always be a “second” language to you.
