转基因小麦可能具有增肥作用

【古风按】天然物种间也会发生转基因的现象(如杂交),但天然发生的转基因是个极其缓慢的过程,对被转基因的原物种是如此,而食用者也有一段漫长的生物系统调试和适应过程。现代生物科技其实是人为地加速了这个转基因的过程,若处理得不当,极有可能导致整个生物圈的内在平衡被破坏,最后全部玩完。

Cardiologist William Davis tells CBS News that modern wheat was created by genetic research in the '60s and '70s.

"...there's a new protein in this thing called gliadin. It's not gluten. I'm not addressing people with gluten sensitivities and celiac disease. I'm talking about everybody else because everybody else is susceptible to the gliadin protein that is an opiate. This thing binds into the opiate receptors in your brain and in most people stimulates appetite, such that we consume 440 more calories per day, 365 days per year."

Davis recommends that people replace wheat with “real food,” such as avocados, olives, olive oil, meats, and vegetables, as this is “the stuff that is least likely to have been changed by agribusiness.”
