What A Woman Really Wants Is A Happy Family

The Shanghai Daily has quoted a recent survey as saying that more women in Shanghai prefer having a happy family to a successful career.

The survey has asked 430 women with university degrees about their living situation and attitudes toward jobs, wages and future plans.

Thirty percent of respondents say a happy family is their first ideal, while 24 percent say they want greater success at work.

The survey also indicates that 72 percent of well-educated women think their living standards are higher than five years ago, and 84 percent are confident about their future career.

About 46 percent of the women like to read books about health, literature and arts in their spare time, aiming to make themselves more beautiful and confident.

The survey finds that the greatest source of anxiety for well-educated women who are married is the difficulty in choosing between children and a career. And the biggest headache for single women is the difficulty of finding a husband.

Experts say some Chinese men want women with a lower level of education, and such traditional thinking is making it more difficult for well-educated women to find a husband.  (  CRIENGLISH.com  )
