The American-born giant panda Meisheng will return to his ancestral homeland at the end of October to live and hopefully find his "Miss Right" in Sichuan Province.

Meisheng was born on August 19th, 2003 in the San Diego zoo, he was the first ever giant panda born in the United States by natural mating, according to researcher Susan Hall.

Chinese media reported on Sunday that the return of Meisheng is part of a cooperative deal on panda research between China and the US. When a giant panda China lends out gives births to any cubs, they should be returned to China after several years' postponement in the birth country.

The China Panda-Protection Research Center has elaborate plans and prepared a welcoming ceremony for the return of the male panda.

It is reported that Meisheng will fly to Shanghai on the night of October 30, and then fly to Chengdu the following day. He will stay in quarantine for one month before moving into his new habitat.(Source:CRIENGLISH.com)
