Maggie Cheung, a celebrated Chinese actress, received a special contribution award on Saturday night at the opening ceremony of the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival.

The 42-year-old actress was honored for her contribution to the Chinese film industry.

Veteran film director Xie Jin and 90-year-old actress Zhang Ruifang were granted the outstanding achievement award.
