菲律宾7.6级大地震！影片曝光 民众尖叫逃生
据美国地质调查局（USGS）12月2日指，菲律宾棉兰老岛（Mindanao）海域发生黎克特制7.6级强烈地震，震源深度为32.8公里。
美国地质调查局最初把地震测定为7.7级，震源深度为45公里，之后修正为7.6级，震源深度为32.8公里。
路透社指，美国海啸预警系统发出海啸警报。菲律宾火山地震研究所（Phivolcs）之后称，料首波海啸会在午夜前抵达，有可能持续数小时。菲律宾时区为GMT+8，与香港没有时差。
美国海啸预警系统其后又表示，在发生7.6级地震后，菲律宾棉兰老岛不再存在海啸威胁。报告指：“根据所有可用数据……这次地震带来的海啸威胁现已过去。”“某些沿海地区或出现轻微的海平面波动。”
欧洲－地中海地震中心（European Mediterranean Seismological Centre，EMSC）则测定这次地震为7.5级，震源深度为63公里。
中国海洋预报台：或引发局部地区海啸
中国国家海洋预报台则称，在2023年12月2日晚上10时37分，菲律宾棉兰老岛海域发生7.2级地震，震源深度为15公里。中国自然资源部海啸预警中心根据初步地震参数判断，地震可能会在震源周围引发局部地区海啸，不会对中国沿岸造成灾害性的影响。
